F.A.Q. – Tours

Episode 162 - Witness to a SweepWhere do the tours start?

Unless others noted, our tours start at our office & recording studio which is minutes away from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

6801 Engle Road, Suite I, Middleburg Heights, OH  44130

Can I park my car at your offices during the tour?

Yes.

What hotels do we stay at during the tours?

Although we like Marriott, Baseball PhD sometimes stays at other quality hotels depending on the lay of the land.

What happens if there is a rain out?

There is rain in baseball (just not crying).  Rain delays are an opportunity to get to know your tourmates.  We follow the individual host team’s rainout policy.  These policies can be found on each host team’s web site.

Where do we sit at the ballparks?

Usually on the field level but sometimes upper deck seats depending on the host team’s season ticket base, day of the week, whom they are playing, time of the season and how the host team treats groups.

Is there time to see other non-baseball sites?

Yes.  We often include non-baseball sites as part of our tours so you can “get a PhD in life – through baseball.”

How much luggage can I bring?

One large suitcase per person plus a small carry-on.  Be sure to have your name tag with address on your luggage.  Please print clearly.  You are responsible for handling your own luggage to and from your hotel rooms.  Because of the pace of our tour, pack with the strategy that you won’t have the time to do laundry.

What is your alcohol policy?

We provide a family atmosphere for all tours.  Please be considerate of everyone on the tour.  Loud, obnoxious behavior will not be tolerated.  If drinking is the main focus of your vacation, you cannot be a Baseball PhD.

Can I smoke on the bus?

No.

What is your policy about children?

Children who are mature enough to enjoy our tours are welcome.  Children should be able to handle deluxe motor coach rides without going up and down the aisles disturbing the other passengers.

How much of a deposit is required to book a tour?

Receipt of a deposit of $100 per person is required to hold tour participant’s reservation.  The balance is due 45 days before departure.  Certified bank checks or credit cards are required for reservations made within 30 days of departure.  You can request reserved seating on our motor coach with early full payment.

Is it safe to register and make payments online?

Yes.  We use online registration system RegOnline.com (same system used by the Boston Red Sox for their vacation packages).  This registration and payment system is run by the Active Network and is secure as a PCI Level 1 compliant system.

What credit cards do you accept?

We accept American Express, Diner’s Club, Discover, MasterCard, MasterCard debit, Visa and Visa debit.

What is your cancellation policy?

Baseball PhD understands that most people who cancel their reservations do so out of necessity.  Nevertheless, cancellations are costly to administer.  Cancellations received 60 days prior to departure will receive full refund, including deposit.  Cancellations received 45-59 days prior to departure will be assessed a $50 per person fee.  Cancellations received within 45 days prior to departure will be assessed a $50 per person fee and receive a refund only if a replacement is found.  All cancellations must be in writing.
