Professor Bruce Bukiet is 2010 MLB Predictions Champion

The power of math won the day as Professor Bruce Bukiet from the New Jersey Institute of Technology won our 2010 Major League Baseball predictions contest.  Bukiet successfully picked 6 of the 8 teams that made the post season.

“I felt like chasing Secretariat all season long,” said Ed Kasputis, Creative Director for Baseball PhD. “Professor Bukiet did a great job of using math and baseball intuition to have a great year.  I’m going to the library to check out a calculus book in honor of the Professor.”

Kasputis along with two others (Mark Rantala and Baseball Bob) finished second by picking 4 of the 8 post season teams.  Ed Kasputis will be interviewing Professor Bukiet during our podcast featuring the Pittsburgh Pirates which will be released on Friday, October 8th.  Like Professor Bukiet always says, “a day without math is like a day without sunshine.”

Congratulations Professor. I haven’t had the privilege of being in one of your classes, however, I did participate in one of your very enthusiastic math major lectures. Your amazingly close predictions show us even more about the “power of math”.
