Dave, my Dad took each of us in the family over the years when we were out there to a Padres game. (My parents retired from Deming New Mexico to Escondido.) Dad always bought two season tickets, one for himself and one for the various people he would invite. Katie’s husband Rick went with him; I went with him; Phil and our two sons Lon (named for my Dad, Lon Meadows) and John (named for Phil’s Dad and your Uncle John, who shared his love for baseball with you) all went with him to the Padres games fron time to time. Mom never much liked the games. So knowing you were so involved with the Padres touches us. Dad knew the players – he could tell us about their families and their history. It made the games so much more interesting! Thanks for sending this moving story about the woman scattering her husband’s ashes on the playing field. Dad would have liked that.

    Your cousin by marriage,

    Jo Ann Meadows Matejczyk
