Eastern League

What a great episode! It was so good, that when I go home to Michigan this summer, besides hitting Toledo and the Midwest League, I may try to catch a game in Akron. Listening to Dave’s experiences in the Eastern League, reminded me of the 23 years my family spent attending High Desert Maverick games. The two seasons I purchased season tickets was also the year each of my two grandsons were 4. I bought 3 seats each year. One for myself, one for my wife, and one for each grandson. It fun to see all these people in their 40s,50s, and 60s, and one 4 year old. Both of the boys knew they had their own seat and weren’t afraid to tell you about it. They also were very eager to give their unused tickets away. One year we were able to have a church outing on our unused tickets alone. (Unfortunately I live an hour from the stadium, and could only make 20-25 games a year. 10-20 game packages were a better deal.) Lastly, (I know, thank goodness), have you listened to the “Eephus” podcast? Very, very fun. Thanks for great podcasts. The “Majors in the Minors” is icing on the cake.

I’m sorry, I just wanted to add one thing. I especially enjoyed Dave’s enjoyment as he described his memories of time spent at Minor League games, and even more so, Ed’s reaction at Dave’s retelling of events. I really enjoy the Major’s, but the Minor’s were the best family bonding sports event we did. Again, thank you.
