This week was scheduled to be Blue Jays week but with the release of our first special podcast edition yesterday about The Famous San Diego Chicken (who was born in London, Ontario) we’ve upgraded to Canada week. If you are an American (88.3% of our listeners are), think of the above video from Edmonton the next time you sing our national anthem. If you are a Canadian, feel proud of the example that you are setting for the rest of the world as they witness your love for Canada.
Our podcast featuring the Toronto Blue Jays will be released on Friday, April 15th. In this podcast you’ll hear the enthusiasm of Justine Palinska from Tourism Toronto as she helps us explore Canada’s largest city and a touching story from Dave Matejczyk as he attended Game 3 of the 1992 World Series at the Skydome.

On April 7, 1977 the Toronto Blue Jays played their first game at Exhibition Stadium against the Chicago White Sox. The video below will attest that Toronto needed a dome stadium. Five years later after the 1982 Grey Cup, momentum for building a dome stadium took root after miserable weather dimmed the Grey Cup game.
Construction started on October 3, 1986 and the SkyDome opened on June 3, 1989. In 2005, the SkyDome’s name was changed to Rogers Centre. Ed, Farley and Mark will be reviewing this great multi-purpose stadium during our podcast featuring the Toronto Blue Jays. This podcast will be released on Friday, August 13th.
