We are in the Capitol of the Pacific Northwest – Seattle.  Ed, Farley and Mark explore the Emerald City and SAFECO Field.  Ed interviews Seattle native, Todd Cook about his blog, children and road trip adventures.  The Wise Guys battle it out over Mariner history and Baseball Bob (the smartest man we know) throws out his trivia question of the podcast.  Our PhD Committee boards the plane for our next podcast venue.  We are headed to the Capitol of the South – Atlanta.

Target Field will open on April 12, 2010 as the Minnesota Twins host the Boston Red Sox.  Target Field will be the only new major league ballpark that will open this year.  Ed, Farley and Mark begin the podcast by talking about Target Field.  Ed then interviews Michael Wekesser, lead designer for the Target Field project.  Mike’s employer is the world renown sports architectural firm, Populous.

The Wise Guys then battle it out over baseball history and then Baseball Bob appears from the shadows to give us the baseball trivia question of the podcast.  What was the name of the franchise that moved to Baltimore in 1954?

The Cactus League starts its 65th season and it is better than ever!  2010 marks the first year that the Cactus League has as many teams as the Grapefruit League – 15 teams each.

Episode 3 starts with Ed, Farly and Mark longing for a plane ticket to Phoenix.  In the next best thing, Ed interviews Marvelous Marv, Grand Canyon tour guide extraordinaire.  Marvelous Marv takes our brains through the wonders of the Grand Canyon and teaches us about the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.

Rodney Johnson from playballexperience.com teaches us about the history of the Cactus League and then the Wise Guys test their knowledge about spring training in Arizona.  Lastly, Baseball Bob makes his glorious debut and presents his trivia question of the podcast.  What current U.S. Senator pitched a no hitter in both leagues?
