This week was scheduled to be Blue Jays week but with the release of our first special podcast edition yesterday about The Famous San Diego Chicken (who was born in London, Ontario) we’ve upgraded to Canada week.  If you are an American (88.3% of our listeners are), think of the above video from Edmonton the next time you sing our national anthem.  If you are a Canadian, feel proud of the example that you are setting for the rest of the world as they witness your love for Canada.

Our podcast featuring the Toronto Blue Jays will be released on Friday, April 15th.  In this podcast you’ll hear the enthusiasm of Justine Palinska from Tourism Toronto as she helps us explore Canada’s largest city and a touching story from Dave Matejczyk as he attended Game 3 of the 1992 World Series at the Skydome.

Episode 24 - Houston Astros

Today, our PhD Committee is in America’s 4th largest city – Houston, Texas.  Ed, Farley and Mark explore Houston.  First, Ed interviews Charlie and Sandy Brading about their long time neighbor and friend, Neil Armstrong.  Then Ed interviews Jack Moore from Space Center Houston about this 1,000 acre complex that hosts Mission Control.  Ed then interviews long time Astros fan, Bill Gilbert and learns a thing or two about MLB’s salary arbitration process.  Our PhD Committee then wraps up the show as they leave the former Republic of Texas and cross the border – to Canada.  Toronto here we come!
