2011 St. Louis Cardinals

Our PhD Committee is in beautiful St. Louis as the Cardinals continue their charge for the final playoff spot in the National League.  Ed Kasputis interviews Ben Humphrey form vivaelbirdos.com as they review the Cardinals 2011 season which turned out to be a “Tale of Three Cities.”  Can the Atlanta Braves hang on with their 2 game lead with 6 games to go or will the Albert Pujols led Cardinals strive to make Tony La Russa proud?  Our PhD Committee produces another great segment of 100 Places to See before they clean off the grill and head to our final Major League City of the year.  It’s time to visit Miller Park and get ready for the post season.  Go Brewers!

2011 San Diego Padres

Opening day has begun with the Padres beating the Cardinals in 11 innings as Albert Pujols becomes the first player to ground into 3 double plays on Opening Day.  While the Padres are in St. Louis, our PhD Committee is in San Diego enjoying America’s Finest City.  Tim Sullivan from the San Diego Union Tribune shares his thoughts about the 2011 Padres and Dave Matejczyk takes us to PETCO Park for a story we’ll never forget.  Ed interviews the Famous San Diego Chicken aka Ted Giannoulas and learns from the web feet of the man who forever changed our ball park experience. The podcast concludes as we say good bye to beautiful San Diego and hello to the Queen City, Cincinnati for our 50th podcast episode.
